Google is testing out a new product called Helpouts. If this reminds you of Google Hangouts it’s because it’s pretty much the same thing with one important difference.
Helpouts is aimed at helping people do a certain task via video. And those folks helping others get paid on their contributions.
Helpouts isn"t open to everyone just yet, but those interested can leave their name and e-mail address to get a notification once the service goes public. Those self-proclaimed experts that have received an invite code can join in one of the many categories available including Health and Counseling, Home and Garden, Computers and Electronics, and so forth.
Once you have everything set up, you"ll get to hang out with some Google employees who make sure your feed is in tip top shape, and you are who you claim you are. Certain professions, such as the medical one, will require extra documentation and proof to show that everything is in order. If that goes well, interested customers will be able to check your availability and schedule an appointment.
Users will be making transactions via Google Wallet and the search giant will charge a 20% fee for all transactions. There’s no exact launch date for this new service but we"re sure it’s already got quite a few folks excited.
