Google Nexus 7 16 GB tablet now on sale again

Google has a big sales hit on its hand with its Nexus 7 tablet. The Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) devices, made by Asus, were announced with much fanfare in June and then went on sale on the Google Play website in July, along with some retail stores. While the 8 GB version was a big seller at  $199, Google found that the $249 16 GB version was an even bigger hit and even took down that version from sale on its site as demand exceeded its supply.

Now, people who have been waiting patiently to purchase the 16 GB Nexus 7 can now do so. The Google Play store now has the more expensive version back on sale again, saying it should ship in between three to five business days.

Just a reminder: Google is also giving folks who purchase either version of the Nexus 7 tablet some extra content "for a limited time". That includes a $25 credit towards purchasing items such as music, video, books and magazines from the Google Play store and some free software, including a free version of Transformers: Dark of the Moon (yes, we know ... it"s not exactly the best movie ever made, but it"s free).
