Unfortunately, when Google announced Google Now for Android 4.1 (Jellybean) at its I/O conference, we didn"t follow it up with another article. However, almost two weeks have now passed and Android Police has now documented 60+ voice commands with Google Now – allowing users to find out information that they may be interested in, based on their search results, history and personal information from various Google services. The videos of these commands can be seen below:
From the videos, we can see that Google’s new fancy-schmancy language engine makes translation extremely accurate to the point where it completely overshadows Siri. For example; it’ll pick up differences between words like ‘Worcester’ and ‘Wooster’ depending on the context both words are used in, and simply has the ability to calculate what you’re planning to do, or give you options of what you can do depending on the location you are in.
Additionally, Google Now has recently been modified to work on Android 4.0 (Ice-cream Sandwich) using two optional methods, but voice searching does not work. However, if you’re interested in just using text-based searching with Google Now on Android 4.0, then follow this guide – rooting is required.
Thanks for the tip, still1
