Google have opened up the library doors to their beta "Google Print" service. Whilst questions still remain as to how Google will tackle the topic of copyrighted material it seems as though they have at least started scanning books in, with Government papers and American Civil War books being the first to be entered into the system.
Google unveiled Google Print over a year ago now, but ran into legal problems, they are hoping to quickly expand the service using some of the main US Universities. The main aim is to start uploading books that have stopped being printed or are not copyrighted, then it is up to Google what other areas they explore.
