Google has started rolling out the January security patch for its Pixel handsets. The update patches a bunch of security vulnerabilities while also fixing some bugs found on the Pixel 2, Pixel 3, and Pixel 4.
For the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL particularly, the January security patch fixes the display color shift issue that used to happen at lower brightness levels. It also adds Smooth Display support for WeChat and introduces various stability improvements. The flashlight toggle now also works properly when used via the new Google Assistant.
The Wi-Fi connection issues as reported by various Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL owners have also been resolved by Google with this update.
Pixel 3 and Pixel 4 units still stuck on the November security patch will get a joint Dec-Jan patch. The December security patch was a feature drop that brought a number of new features like enhanced Call Screen, auto-framing for Google Duo video calls, Live Caption, and more.

Apart from Google, Samsung has also started rolling out the January 2020 security patch for its flagship devices like the Galaxy Note10 and S10.
