Nowadays, a tech conference cannot do justice without a shiny new application helping non-attendees understand exactly what changes a company is making to its products, and Google understands this. Google"s new I/O application has now been released on Google Play and is optimized to work phones and tablets alike.
Users are able to sync events with their calendars and tune in to find information about topics of interest – and of course, the ability to share them across social networks is also enabled. The application also integrates the #io2012 hashtag on posts allowing you to interact with others who are interested in the same event.
The application will support Froyo, but some features such as the I/O Live session video streams will be only for devices running Android 3.0 (Honycomb) and above, and automatic syncing for schedules and NFC beaming will be for Android 4.0 (Ice-cream Sandwich).
We’ve got a few images in the gallery, but one of them stands of the home screen widget stands out as being the possible Jellybean update due to the unfamiliar search box. We hope to learn more in the week, but until then, feel free to download Google’s I/O 2012 application.
