Google has published details of its latest monthly Android security bulletin, and made new factory and OTA images available for supported Nexus and Pixel devices. Google says that all of the vulnerabilities disclosed in its latest bulletin were revealed to its partners on April 3, 2017 or earlier.
There are two separate security patch level strings in the new bulletin "to provide Android partners with the flexibility to more quickly fix a subset of vulnerabilities that are similar across all Android devices", Google explained. However, it also pointed out that "supported Google devices will receive a single OTA update with the May 05, 2017 security patch level".
These are the latest build numbers for each supported Nexus and Pixel device still eligible for security updates:
- Nexus 5X: N2G47O
- Nexus 6: N6F27C
- Nexus 6P: N2G47O
- Nexus 9 (Wi-Fi and LTE): N4F27B
- Nexus Player: N2G47R
- Pixel / Pixel XL: N2G47O
- Pixel / Pixel XL (Deutsche Telekom): N2G47T
- Pixel / Pixel XL (Verizon): NHG47L
- Pixel C: N2G47O
The latest OTA binary image files for supported Nexus and Pixel devices can be found here on Google"s site, and the new factory images are available here.
By the way, some Pixel XL owners received this update a couple of weeks ago, after Google accidentally pushed it to some of those handsets, marked as "CONFIDENTIAL INTERNAL ONLY".
