Amidst recent speculation that Google will ultimately update their feel and logo to a cleaner, flatter design to tie in with their other offerings, the UK search page appears to have been updated with the new logo and a new apps toolbox.
The update appears only to be available to a very small number of users, and appears only accessible on Apple"s OS X operating systems and not accessible on Windows or Linux.
Previously, Google apps were accessed via the Chrome start page or the Windows 8 Chrome apps toolbar icon. Now, these apps can be quickly accessed from Google"s main search page, providing greater usability for all.
Most notably, the logo has been updated to the flatter design akin to Microsoft"s 2012 logo, with eerily similar coloring. Gone is the archaic beveling that was vastly out of line with the rest of the company"s design aesthetic.
Neowin has reached out to Google for an official comment on the release, and will update this article as soon as any response arrives.
