Google posted in their blog on Tuesday that they will be putting an end to Google Newspaper-ads, which currently links more than 800 U.S. based newspaper, after a failed attempt to sell the business. The online interfaced program allowed users to submit advertisements to newspapers around the U.S.
The program will be scraped because Google fails to see the program paying off in the return, and will end the program on February 28, 2009. The newspaper-ad service also allowed online advertisement mixed with hard copy newspapers that displays along web sites that have signed up with Google AdSense, an online advertising company that can display advertisements based on keywords and site content.
The plan to shut down Google"s newspaper-ad service comes from the deepening recession where companies like Google needs to plan their spending wisely and cutting unprofitable services seems to be the first to get the axe.
