Google Stadia will have just 12 games when it launches next week

Google announced its Stadia game-streaming service back in March, and it"s finally ready for launch. Today, the Mountain View firm announced the games that will be available when it goes live on November 19, and there are just 12 of them.

Here"s the full list:

  • Assassin"s Creed Odyssey
  • Destiny 2
  • Gylt
  • Just Dance 2020
  • Kine
  • Mortal Kombat 11
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Thumper
  • Tomb Raider
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider
  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider
  • Samurai Shodown

If you"re pumped for Stadia and disappointed by the short list of games, there"s some good news. Google is promising to deliver 14 more games to the service before the end of the year. Here"s what you can expect to see before December 31:

  • Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle
  • Borderlands 3
  • Darksiders Genesis
  • Dragonball Xenoverse 2
  • Farming Simulator 19
  • Final Fantasy XV
  • Football Manager 2020
  • Ghost Recon Breakpoint
  • Grid
  • Metro Exodus
  • NBA 2K20
  • Rage 2
  • Trials Rising
  • Wolfenstein Youngblood

Google also noted that games like Doom: Eternal, WatchDogs, Legion, Gods & Monsters, and Cyberpunk 2077 are on the way, although not slated for this year.

It"s worth noting that Microsoft"s Project xCloud, which is likely to be Google"s chief competitor in this space, doesn"t have an official list of supported games just yet, although the current preview has four games. Microsoft did say that xCloud technically supports anything that can run on an Xbox One, but it"s unclear how licensing will work.
