Google takes aim at Microsoft's Surface Hub with $4,999 Jamboard arriving in May

It was only a few months ago that Google announced its plans to offer a Microsoft Surface Hub competitor, the Jamboard. Google is calling it a "collaborative, digital whiteboard" and it now has a proper price and release date.

As mentioned previously, the Jamboard is a connected collaborative device that will harness the power of Google"s G Suite. It runs a specialized version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow and since the device will harness the power of the cloud, users will have to download a Jamboard application to participate, with sessions being saved to Google Drive.

The Jamboard will feature a 55-inch 4K touchscreen display that will also be compatible with supplied tools like a stylus and eraser, both of which will not require batteries to operate. This will all be packaged in a nice rollaway configuration that will allow teams to easily wheel the device around a workspace. The unit will also have a webcam, speakers and will offer expected inputs, like USB 2.0, 3.0, USB Type-C, HDMI, Bluetooth, and NFC.

The Jamboard will retail for $4,999 and will arrive sometime in May. If interested, you can submit your details at the source link down below.
