Details emerged this week of an update on the way to Google"s Nexus 5X, the smaller and more affordable of its Android 6.0 flagships. Owners of its larger sibling, the Nexus 6P, may well have looked upon that news with envy - but as it turns out, the 6P will also be getting a similar update of its own.
In fact, Google has already compiled the new build (MHC19I), and it"s available now from the company"s Developers site. The list of improvements for the 6P - first published on Reddit - is the same as that for the 5X:
- General device performance
- DND [do not disturb mode] next alarm disappearing issue
- Carrier-specific bug fixes
- Connectivity improvements
While the update isn"t yet rolling out over-the-air, it shouldn"t be much longer before it does so, although if you don"t want to wait, you can of course grab the system image from the Developers site and flash it on to your device.
The Nexus 6P is among several devices supported by Google"s first Developer Preview of the next major Android version, known as the "N" release, which it made available yesterday.
