Google unveiled last month an integration between its Meet videoconferencing service and Gmail. Now, another Google tool is set to be incorporated into its email service for G Suite customers.
The search giant has announced that G Suite users will be able to make a call using Google Voice directly from their Gmail inbox, assuming they have Google Voice licenses. The new capability will begin rolling out on June 3 and it will only be available on Firefox and Chrome on desktop. The feature will allow users to make, answer or transfer Voice calls right from Gmail without switching to a new tab. The capability will be enabled by default. The integration will appear on the right side of the inbox with an interface that resembles that of the Voice web application.
Google has also revealed that it already started rolling out the ability to transfer calls using Google Voice on Android, iOS, and the web. It"s available to G Suite customers with Voice licenses. This rollout began on May 19.
