Announced at Google I/O 2022, the Pixel Buds Pro earbuds, are the latest edition of the firm-manufactured earpieces. Unlike last year"s affordable Pixel Buds A-Series, the earbuds are priced at $199.
They come with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which Google has built with a 6-core audio chip that runs in-house algorithms. The earbuds contain sensors that measure pressure in the ear canal to make sure that using them over a long period doesn"t become uncomfortable. To ensure that highs, mids, and lows sound consistently balanced, Volume EQ will adjust the tuning according to the volume. The support for spatial audio will be added later the year, the blog post read.
Pixel Buds Pro have Multipoint connectivity, so they would automatically switch connections between different devices in case of a changing environment. This can come in quite handy if one is using them on their laptop and suddenly goes out for a walk.
There"s also a Transparency mode, that lets in ambient sound if one would like to be aware of their surroundings. The earbuds can withstand drizzle and sweat as they"re rated IPX4 for water resistance. The case is IPX2 water-resistant. They come in four colors: Coral, Lemongrass, Fog, and Charcoal.
Lastly, the battery can be charged wirelessly and it gives 11 hours of listening time. With ANC turned on, the earbuds can be used for up to 7 hours. They"ll be available for pre-order starting July 21. To check if they"ll be available in your country and for more product updates, please click here.
