It"s that time of the year again. All of the big tech companies are putting on their developer events. For Google, that event is I/O, and it was actually canceled last year due to the emerging pandemic.
But this year, it"s on, and as you"d expect, it"s going to be a free virtual event. As usual, the company put up a puzzle for developers to solve, and as spotted by 9to5Google, it"s going to be held between May 18 and May 20. Once again, it will be the week before Microsoft"s Build developer conference, which is between May 25 and May 27.
Last year, Google had opened up registration for its I/O 2020 event on February 20, switched it to a virtual event on March 3, and then canceled it entirely on March 20. Of course, these were different times, times when company employees were being told to work from home for just two weeks. Now, Google is more prepared for a virtual event.
As for what"s going to be announced, you can expect some Android 12 news, and possibly even the official beta. Another possibility is the Pixel 5a and the Pixel Buds A.
