Nearby Share, Google"s take on Apple"s AirDrop, appears to be showing up on Chrome for Windows 10. However, there isn"t a straightforward way yet to start using the feature.
First off, the new capability is working only on Chrome"s Dev and Canary channels at the moment. In order to use it, you will need to open chrome://flags and search for "#nearby-sharing", and then enable the option. When this is done, you must restart the browser and then go to chrome://nearby. There, you will see a page that shows the supported devices with which you can share files.
There are a few hardware requirements as well before the file-sharing feature can work as intended. For one, you will need a Windows PC that supports Bluetooth connectivity,a Pixel smartphone, or a Chromebook. Nearby Share already works on Chrome OS Canary developer builds since early July. Then, once the Bluetooth is turned on, both the PC and the other device should be unlocked and near each other. On Chromebook, you should enable Nearby Share in the Quick Settings.
The feature recently started rolling out to some users running the beta version of Google Play Services.
