Google's upcoming Nest Mini looks almost exactly like the Home Mini

Google is set to unveil a series of devices at tomorrow"s hardware event, the highlight of which is the Pixel 4. Among the other devices expected to make an appearance is the Google Nest Mini, a direct successor to the 2017 Google Home Mini, now marketed under the Nest brand.

However, just as with the Pixel phones themselves, it seems the upcoming smart speaker has leaked ahead of the official announcement, courtesy of German website WinFuture. And according to the report, the Nest Mini doesn"t offer a lot that"s new compared to its predecessor in terms of design, with the device being exactly the same size as the Home Mini. However, on the underside of it, there"s a hole that can be used to hang the device on a wall, and the 1.5-meter long power cable should make this easier as well.

The original Home Mini

The power adapter is also rated for 15 watts, which is noticeably higher than the 9-watt adapter for the original Home Mini, suggesting the device could sport a louder speaker. The Nest Mini is expected to supports dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity. Pricing should be the same as the current Home Mini, and it"ll be available in four colors: black, white, coral pink, and light blue.

The new Nest Mini is said to be available to buy later this week, following tomorrow"s announcement. We won"t have long to wait now to know if that"s the case, as the event is scheduled for 10AM Eastern Time.
