GoPro releases $199 entry-level camera with touchscreen

GoPro used to be a company that could do no wrong but over the past few years, it has struggled. The firm made promises a few months back to make its products more accessible, and now it has delivered on this promise in the form of a new GoPro camera that costs $199.99.

The new Hero camera is available starting today and as you might expect with a lower price tag, the capabilities of the model aren"t quite up to today"s standards. The unit will shoot at a max resolution of 1440p at 60 frames per second, will be able to take 10MP stills, shoot time lapses and also perform burst photography. It also has a 2-inch touchscreen, voice control, electronic image stabilization (EIS), and is waterproof. As you can probably guess, existing accessories from GoPro will also work with this unit.

Hopefully, this is the start of the firm regaining some of its lost ground. If interested in purchasing one, you can head to the GoPro website or find it at your local retailer.
