Microsoft"s apathy towards its browser"s extensions situation has been quite noticeable. Edge"s poor extension support is probably a prominent reason as to why its market share has stagnated. But, every now and then, Microsoft Edge manages to introduce a few major extensions, and add onto its slowly growing list of supported extensions; Grammarly, as of today, is one such extension, and is now available for Edge via the Windows Store.
The extension"s store description reads:
Grammarly will make sure your messages, documents, and social media posts are clear, mistake-free, and impactful. Adding Grammarly to Microsoft Edge means that your spelling and grammar will be vetted on Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Tumblr, and nearly everywhere else you write on the web.
Grammarly for Microsoft Edge comes with features such as contextual spelling check, grammar check, and, of course, the option to subscribe to its premium service which provides help with advanced grammar rules and sentence structures. In its own words, the company states that its products provide "AI-powered products help people communicate more effectively". The service also provides a plagiarism detection via its vast resources.
Apart from being available as a browser extension on Edge, Firefox, and Chrome, the service is also available on Windows and macOS, as well as an add-on for Microsoft Office.
