Grand Theft Auto III coming to mobiles for 10th anniversary

Remember the time you stole your first car? Rockstar hopes you do, as it"s laying out plans for the upcoming 10th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto III. We"ve seen a whole range of games in the series since then, but for a lot of people (myself included), Grand Theft Auto III holds a special place in their memories. After all, it was the first game in the series in 3D, as well as the first for the Playstation 2.

Most importantly, a port of the game is coming soon for a select few devices. Details of any changes are scarce, so for now all we have is the list of supported devices. They are:

Apple iOS Devices: iPad 2, iPhone 4S
Android Phones: Droid X2, HTC Evo 2, LG Optimus 2X, Motorola Atrix, Samsung Galaxy S2
Android Tablets: Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

The list might seem short, but Rockstar are saying to "stay tuned" as more devices might be announced in the future. Interesting to note is the iPhone 4S is the only iPhone model that will be able to play it. Due to come out tomorrow, the phone will barely have cooled off on shelves by the time the port is released.

Other plans include a new Claude action figure, complete with prison outfit and array of weapons, and a special appearance at New York Comic Con. Attendees will be able to try out the mobile version, enter to win prizes, and look around a special gallery of game artwork.

The Claude action figure will be available for $149.99, but a price for the mobile port has yet to be announced.
