Rockstar"s "Grand Theft Auto V" online component, "Grand Theft Auto Online," launched this morning on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but so far users have experienced a variety of problems accessing the game.
Twitter users have taken to the social media service to express their displeasure with the launch problems, with many complaining of the game either freezing or being unable to connect to servers. Some users have experienced loading issues, with the game not advancing past a fully blacked-out screen.
Microsoft"s Xbox Live service page has been updated with the following message regarding the "GTA Online" issues, noting users are experiencing errors accessing cloud-stored data:
Currently, our members are running into a bit of trouble when trying to access content in Grand Theft Auto V Online. Our top engineers are working shoulder-to-shoulder with our partner on getting everything back to normal for you. We want you back in the game as soon as possible! We’re very grateful for your patience while we work. We’ll update you as soon as we have more information!
Rockstar is also maintaining a status page regarding the situation, which it"s updated throughout the day with the latest information.
"We will be updating this page as often as possible with the status of issues we are aware of and looking into," the page states before listing several of the known problems, such as freezing and error messages. No timetable has been provided for when the issues may be fixed, however.
