Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been slowly expanding on PC with the release of Halo: Reach in December of last year, and since then, 343 Industries and supporting studios have released Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary edition on the platform with Halo 2 Anniversary recently being tested through Insiders.
Today in its monthly Master Chief Collection development update blog post, 343 Industries revealed that it is "approaching solid Alpha candidates for both Halo 3 and ODST" for internal testing. These early builds will go through several parties of in-house testers before Halo Insiders get their hands on a relatively stable one.
But before that, Halo 2 and its Anniversary edition releases will be coming along, and the studio said fans won"t have to wait much longer for their release. It went on to thank Halo Insiders who sent feedback on the recent flight through survey responses, support tickets, and Halo Waypoint Forums. Around 175,000 invites had been sent out for testing the build.
Behind the scenes work is also progressing well on implementing Forge and file share capabilities as well as audio fixes for Halo: Reach, view model adjustments for weapons, secondary key binds support, and the upcoming Challenges feature for providing players new goals to pursue every week.
