Just as 343 Industries announced last month, the first Insider testing session for the upcoming PC release of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary has kicked off today. This flight will come to an end 10 days from now, and just as with previous sessions, invites are being sent out for both Microsoft Store and Steam versions as the developer continues its tests.
Those who were selected from the Halo Insider program to be in this flight should now have an email waiting for them with instructions on how to join the test. As previously announced, this session will be examining almost every component of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, including single-player, co-op, multiplayer, custom games, matchmaking, and customization systems, alongside many other aspects.
Moreover, some Halo: Reach PC content are also available through this flight. This is to analyze some new behaviors such as the crouching rework and the intelligent install system for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, among other changes. Any new bugs spotted during this flight can be forwarded to the development team using the link listed on this tweet. Note that these insider links will only open for those who are participating in the flight.
Signing up to the Halo Insider Program can be accomplished through here, which will give participants a chance to test various builds like these in the future as more titles from the Halo: The Master Chief Collection heads towards a PC release.
At launch, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will cost $9.99 to purchase on PC across the Microsoft Store and Steam, though no release date has been announced yet. Those who"ve purchased the $39.99 Halo: The Master Chief Collection will get the game as part of the package at launch.
