Microsoft and 343 Industries launched Halo: Reach for PC and Xbox One last week as part of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and the release has been a "monumental" one.
Microsoft said today that during launch week, Halo: The Master Chief Collection had almost three million players jump in to play Halo: Reach across the two new platforms. The game also easily took over the top most-selling spot of Steam during the launch, becoming the most popular debut of a Xbox Game Studios title on the platform.
It was also pointed out that the Steam version currently touts a Very Positive overall user review score, with over 36,000 positive reviews. As for livestreams, three million hours of the new Halo releases had been watched by fans during launch week. Meanwhile during the launch day, Reach had climbed to the top most-watched spot on Twitch.
Halo: Reach on PC was given a score of 9 and an Excellent verdict in our own review, though the muffled audio does need some looking into. The game is available as a standalone purchase on Xbox One and PC - via Microsoft Store and Steam - now for $9.99, while purchasing the full Halo: The Master Chief Collection for $39.99 is also an option. Xbox Game Pass subscribers have access to the game also.
