Halo show already renewed for second season

The Halo show premieres on Paramount + towards the end of March 2022, but it"s already been renewed for a second season. It seems like the streaming service is confident about the first season of Halo to announce the renewal more than a month before release. This will give the creators a chance to expand the stories possible in the universe.

The series takes place in an alternate timeline. The main events will still be the same, but the way in which the Master Chief and Cortana come across the first Halo ring will be different. Instead of randomly stumbling across it, they"ll have to explore the galaxy to find its exact location. However, it"s a race against time because, if the Covenant get there first, they"ll fire it and wipe out all sentient life in the galaxy.

Recently, Marty O"Donnell and Mike Salvatori, the composers for the original Halo game, sued Microsoft for unpaid royalties dating back 20 years. They"re also looking at blocking the release of the show through an injunction. Mediation is set for this week, but it"s unclear if Microsoft and the affected parties will reach an agreement.

Halo Infinite is the latest entry in the gaming franchise and features an open-world environment. It also focuses on Master Chief, a pilot, and a new companion called The Weapon. It"s part of Xbox Game Pass, so be sure to check it out if you"re interested. The multiplayer portion of Halo Infinite is free-to-play, but the campaign is paid.
