A few weeks ago, Microsoft announced that Halo: Spartan Assault, the top-down shooter made first for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8, would be coming to the Xbox One and Xbox 360 in December. Today, the company announced a specific release date for the Xbox One port; it will be available for download on December 24th for $14.99.
The bad news for Xbox 360 owners is that they will have to wait until January 2014 to get their version of the game. The good news, according to Xbox Wire, is that people who already own the Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 versions can purchase the Xbox One port at a discounted price of $4.99.
As previously announced, the Xbox One version of the game will include all of the content in the Windows 8 or Windows Phone 8 versions, plus the Operation Hydra DLC pack. In addition, the Xbox One port will add an online two player co-op mode where two players can fight off waves of The Flood. The port will also have 7.1 surround sound, and remastered sound effects.
Microsoft has also revealed the achievements that players can unlock while playing Halo: Spartan Assault on Xbox One. The game will likely be the last Xbox One title released in 2013.
