"Halo: Spartan Assault," Microsoft"s first mobile entry in the Halo franchise, is on sale for about 50 percent off in both the Windows and Windows Phone stores.
The game, which typically costs about $7, is on sale for $3.49 in the Windows Store and $2.99 in the Windows Phone Store. Reviews for the game have been overwhelmingly positive; Neowin awarded it an 8.5 for the Windows version and 7 for the Windows Phone version. Additionally, the game is one of the most popular on both platforms, with an aggregate score of about four out of five stars in the Windows Store and four and a half out of five in the Windows Phone Store.
Because "Spartan Assault" has separate listings for the two stores, it must be purchased twice to own it on both platforms.
Microsoft recently announced it will bring the game to both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One sometime in December, though an exact release date has yet to be announced. A full sequel to the Xbox 360"s "Halo 4" is scheduled to be released for the Xbox One sometime late next year. It"s unlikely the "Halo 4" successor will be released on PC, though Microsoft has said it will now focus on "core" games for Windows 8.1.
