Last week, Apple held its annual Worldwide Developer Conference. There, the firm announced what"s next for its operating systems, including OS X, which will now be called macOS, or macOS 10.12 Sierra, to be specific.
The new release will have a number of new features, the most notable of which being Siri. In fact, most of the new features either bring macOS to par with iOS, or they"re features that are also added in iOS 10. Some of those other features are picture-in-picture and new features in Photos.
It"s also worth noting that this will be the first release of Apple"s desktop operating system that doesn"t support all of the devices that last year"s OS supported. If you have a Mac that"s older than 2009, you"re pretty much out of luck.
