Hands on with the reborn Motorola razr

Up until a few weeks ago, the last time Motorola made something called the razr was 2004, 15 years ago. But the device is reborn with a new take, as a foldable Android smartphone.

The form factor is different from other foldables that we"ve seen so far though. Rather than unfolding into an exceptionally large, tablet-sized screen, it"s a clamshell. It unfolds into the size of a normal smartphone, giving it a small footprint when it"s closed. It"s a flip phone, but with a modern take on it.

This $1,500 smartphone is a lot of fun to use. It has decidedly mid-range specs, with a 16MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, and a Snapdragon 710 chipset. In fact, the 21:9 display isn"t even FHD. What you"re paying for is the form factor, and of course, that sweet, sweet nostalgia.

It even has a large chin, which the top of the device fits neatly into when it"s closed. Check out the hands on video below:
