Google said earlier this month that soon it would allow G Suite users to join a meeting on Hangouts Meet using their preferred video conferencing systems such as Cisco, Polycom, and Skype for Business. The search giant is now making good on its promise to roll out third-party interoperability to the online video conferencing solution it unveiled in March last year.
Google announced that G Suite teams can now turn on integration with third-party systems for Hangouts Meet in the admin console by heading over to Apps > G Suite > Google Hangouts > Meet Settings and ticking the “Turn on interoperability with other systems" box. The solution requires a license from Pexip to work once the feature is switched on.
The rollout is expected to complete over the next two days and it will go live for all G Suite editions.
