A full sequel to one of the best RTS games of all time is likely to get an official reveal very soon. A poster or Reddit has uploaded a scan from the new issue of the UK edition of PC Gamer magazine which seems to confirm that developer Relic and publisher THQ are working on Company of Heroes 2 for a release on the PC in 2013.
The magazine scan shows that the sequel keeps the original"s WWII setting but that it takes place primarily on the war"s eastern front, focusing on the battles between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany in locations such as Stalingrad, Smolensk, Kursk and Moscow. The article also states that Relic is looking to put in more realism in the sequel. So far neither THQ nor Relic have announced anything officially about Company of Heroes 2.
The original game was released in 2006 and focused on the invasion of Normandy and the liberation of France by Allied forces. The game was widely hailed by critics and two stand alone expansion packs, Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor, were released in 2007 and 2009, respectively. Relic also developed a free-to-play version, Company of Heroes Online, but THQ decided to shut the game down in March 2011.
