As expected, Apple launched a new series of Apple Watches today, calling it Series 2. The news came alongside the launch of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Both new lines of devices will be available for preorder on Friday and will ship on the 16th, but Apple wasn"t clear on the Watch"s pricing, other than that it starts at $369.
The company also said the Series 2 will come in a new material: ceramic. There was also no mention of gold, or the names "Sport" or "Edition". As you can see from the photo above, there"s a new Apple Watch Nike Plus model as well.
If it seems a bit confusing, that"s because it is. To start things off, it would appear that the ceramic model is the new Apple Watch Edition. In fact, Apple"s own website doesn"t list the gold model anymore.

It"s also worth noting that the original Apple Watch - now called Apple Watch Series 1 - now starts at $269, or $299 for the larger 42mm model. The company is only selling the aluminum models of Series 1, but they"ve been upgraded with the new dual-core chipset that"s found in the Apple Watch Series 2.
