Today, Microsoft released a brand new Windows 10 Insider Preview to the Fast ring, bringing the build number to 17127. There were a few new features, which is a bit surprising given how close we are to Redstone 4 being ready for the general public. Usually, at this point the company is only focusing on fixes and improvements.
Naturally, that doesn"t exactly mean that it isn"t focusing on fixes and improvements; that"s just not the only focus, apparently. Here"s what"s fixed and improved in Windows 10 build 17127.
We fixed an issue where if you had your phone linked to your PC prior to upgrading, you’ll find it has become unlinked after upgrading.
We fixed an issue that could result in Microsoft Edge crashing when turning off certain extensions.
We fixed an issue where Narrator would crash when using scan mode to read dialogs in Microsoft Edge.
We fixed an issue resulting in the page up and page down keys not working when using Microsoft Edge in Reading View.
We fixed an issue resulting in focus being lost after using WIN+A to close the Action Center.
We fixed an issue where if you switched your formatting to Japanese without having the Japanese language in your language list, newly installed apps wouldn’t appear in Start.
There have also been some issues as of late with some new Windows Mixed Reality features. These are the fixes that relate to Microsoft"s virtual reality platform:
We fixed the performance regression for Windows Mixed Reality on hybrid laptops.
We fixed the issue where the inbox apps would fail to load inside of Windows Mixed Reality and newly placed Holograms may be empty.
The good news is that there are no known issues in this build. That means that it"s a likely Slow ring candidate. It doesn"t seem likely that this will be a release candidate, being that the Insider Preview watermark should still be there. Once the watermark and expiration date are removed though, RTM should be imminent.
