A few days ago, it was revealed that FIFA 18 would be making its way to the PC, current- and last-gen consoles, and the Nintendo Switch as well. However, EA also confirmed that the Switch would be getting an inferior version of its latest title, similar to the one available on last-gen consoles. The company has now revealed more details about FIFA 18 on the hybrid console.
In a press release, EA has confirmed that FIFA 18 on the Nintendo Switch will not be built upon the Frostbite game engine which is being utilized on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and the PC. Similarly, it will not pack the second season of "The Journey" game mode as well, in which players take control of a rising Premier League star named Alex Hunter.
On the other hand, game modes included in the Switch version are FIFA Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Kick Off, and Local Seasons. Ultimate Team players will also be able to take part in Squad Building Challenges, Online and Offline Seasons, Tournaments, live campaigns relevant to the ongoing football season, the Transfer Market, and Draft. EA says that it plans to reveal more features soon.
Additionally, gamers can also participate in Kick-Off mode, the Women"s International Cup, Skill Games, Online Seasons, Tournaments, and Local Seasons across two Switch consoles.
FIFA 18"s producer, Andrei Lăzărescu, had the following to say about the game"s release on Nintendo"s latest console:
