While the company first talked about a Universal Skype experience at its January event this year, the upcoming feature has been mostly kept under wraps, with only a few renders and one alleged screenshot. Now, a publication has got its hands on the actual product (Windows 10 Mobile only) and shows us what it will look like:
There are still have a few bugs but, otherwise, the feature set looks complete,at least on the Mobile side.
As previously reported, the Universal Skype experience looks to amalgamate Skype with a number of existing apps like Messaging, Phone and Video, to provide an integrated Skype and communication experience across the OS. In Messaging, for example, you can choose to send to a message using either an SMS or Skype depending on whether the recipient is online or not.
For those who wish to use the stand-alone product with all the Skype functions in one place, the Skype app will still be available alongside the Universal experience.
