Razer is holding an event today, where it is expected to announce its new premium gaming handset, the Razer Phone 2. The device is expected to have a similar design to its predecessor, along with the 120Hz display that made it famous. Other than that, you can expect standard premium smartphone specs, like a Snapdragon 845.
Tonight"s event will take place in San Francisco at 6:30pm Pacific Time/9:30pm Eastern Time. You"ll also have your choice in streaming options:
Last year"s Razer Phone made headlines for being the first smartphone to be engineered with gaming in mind. Aside from the 120Hz 1440p display, it also featured front-facing speakers with Dolby Atmos, 8GB RAM, Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+, dual cameras, and more. It also had thermal displacement, so the chipset wouldn"t throttle under heavy usage.
It"s going to be fun to see how the firm can top last year"s $699 device this time around, and it likely won"t just be a chipset upgrade to a Snapdragon 845. Make sure to check back tonight when the event starts.
