IO Interactive"s Hitman 3 will be the latest game to arrive at the Epic Games Store as an exclusive on PC. The studio revealed the news today while informing fans of its pre-order plans for the stealth title, which are slated to go live later this month.
"As an independent studio, our partnership with Epic has given us the freedom to create HITMAN 3 exactly as we imagined and self-publish the game to our players directly," said the studio regarding the exclusivity. "It’s also important to us that we honour the time our existing PC players have spent in our previous games."
Similar to the previous entry, Hitman 3 will allow players to enjoy content from Hitman (2016) and Hitman 2 through the new game, carrying over all progress and unlocks. As the last two games were only available via Steam on PC, IO Interactive will let Epic Games Store owners of Hitman 3 import their old data and game locations from Steam.
"We want to make it a seamless process for our PC players to enjoy HITMAN 3 on a different PC platform and continue to enjoy the benefits of our World of Assassination," added the studio. The exclusivity deal will see Hitman 3 reach Steam and other PC platforms 12 months after the Epic Games Store launch.
Hitman 3 is coming to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Google Stadia in January 2021. The game will arrive with VR support exclusively on PlayStation platforms.
