The Nokia X6 made its debut a couple months ago, launching in China, with a rumored global launch slated for later. The time has now arrived, as HMD Global has now announced its Android One handset, the Nokia 6.1 Plus, running Android 8.1.
As far as the specifications go, the Nokia 6.1 Plus offers the same exact specifications as the Nokia X6. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, 4GB RAM, and has 64GB of internal storage with expansion via microSD.
As you can tell from the image, the front has a notched display, coming in at 5.8 inches with 1080p resolution. The rear does have a dual camera setup, featuring a 16MP and 5MP sensor, while the front-facing camera offers a 16MP sensor. As far as battery life is concerned, the handset packs a 3,040mAh battery, and also offers security with its rear-mounted fingerprint reader. The phone does make use of a USB Type-C port for charging and also has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Perhaps best of all, the unit is part of the Android One program, meaning it has a stock version of Android 8.1 and should be updated quickly and regularly. The phone will be available on July 24 in China, priced at 2,288 HKD or around $291 USD. Although it will be available globally, price and a release schedule have not been announced.
