HMD Global, the exclusive licensee of the Nokia brand for smartphones, has begun rolling out the latest version of Android to its Nokia 3.1. The firm has been fairly consistent in terms of delivering the latest updates to its devices, and the Nokia 3.1 is the latest of many, following phones such as the Nokia 2.1 or the 2017 models of the Nokia 5 and the Nokia 6.
The Nokia 3.1 was launched last summer alongside the 2.1 and 5.1, and it features a MediaTek MT6750N octa-core chipset, either 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. As with all Nokia phones, it runs a fairly clean version of Android and is part of the Android One program, so the update to Pie will bring the same new features as it did for other phones. These include gesture navigation and Digital Wellbeing.
If last year"s phones aren"t enough for you, the company did refresh some its lineup at this year"s Mobile World Congress, introducing the Nokia 1 Plus, 3.2, and 4.2. While Nokia is bringing Pie to its user base, Google is already looking ahead at the next Android release. The first Android Q beta was made available earlier this week for Pixel devices.
