HMD Global, the company that has the rights to the Nokia brand, will be announcing three new handsets at Mobile World Congress, according to a new report from VentureBeat. Last month, the firm launched the Nokia 6, and it sold out in just a minute, despite decidedly mid-range specifications.
Two of the handsets will be the Nokia 3 and 5, which will both be lower end than the 6, which uses a Snapdragon 430 chipset, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, a 16MP rear camera with PDAF, and a 5.5-inch 1080p display. The Nokia 5 should use the same chipset, but with a 5.2-inch 720p display, 2GB RAM, and a 12MP rear camera.
The price of the handset will be €199, while the even-lower-end Nokia 3 will be €149. The handsets will be aimed at the European market, and the Nokia 6 - formerly only available in China - should arrive in the region as well for €249.
And finally, the third phone is meant to be a modern version of the legendary Nokia 3310. The 3310 was known for being nearly unbreakable, as well as great battery life. This presumably won"t be a smartphone version of it, as it will be priced at €59.
HMD Global"s Mobile World Congress event will be held on February 26. We"ll be there, so stay tuned to Neowin for more news on these Nokia-branded devices.
