HMD Global will improve the camera app on Nokia phones

While the mid-range and top-tier Nokia smartphones from HMD Global can claim to have relatively good camera hardware, powered by ZEISS, the software experience has been somewhat lacking on them. Users have demanded something akin to the Lumia Camera app, and HMD Global might just be planning to introduce something similar in the future.

Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer for HMD Global has responded to a tweet from a user asking about the possibility of an updated camera app regardless of the company"s Oreo update plans. He also acknowledged a tweet about the Lumia Camera app as well.

Yep!

Since launch, the camera app on the new Nokia smartphones has been criticized for being too basic and lacking functionality that has become common place for competing smartphones. It will be interesting to see what HMD Global has in store with the upcoming Oreo update, which is currently in the beta stage and available for the Nokia 8.

As of now, Sarvikas has not provided any timeline for the update and it could be a long wait untill we see something concrete enough to report about.
