HMD Global announced the next generation of Nokia devices a couple weeks back starting with the Nokia 6. Although not a high-end device, the handset offered good looks paired with a fair price. It officially went on sale today and it unsurprisingly sold out in a minute.
Although the device ran out of stock almost instantly, it is unknown how much quantity was sold. Prior to the flash sale, the handset garnered a million registrations from people intending to make a purchase. While there are undoubtedly more than a few curious people in other regions that would love to purchase the device, it is currently only be offered exclusively by online retailer Jingdong (JD.com) in China.
While stock will surely be replenished sometime in the future, there is no firm date currently as to when this will happen. More importantly, HMD Global has not announced when and if it will be made available to other regions like the US and EU. The company is expected to announce the "next chapter" in Nokia"s saga later next month at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
