At its October Windows 10 devices event today, Microsoft has showed off even more capabilities of its HoloLens technology. The company demonstrated this using a new game code-named "Project X-ray", where the user battled against holographic robots using a gun controlled by an analog stick.
Microsoft also announced that the HoloLens Development Edition will cost $3,000 and will be available in Q1 2016. The company states that it will started taking applications for the futuristic device, starting today.
Microsoft"s Terry Myerson further stated how the HoloLens was an untethered device, not requiring phones, PCs or even wires. Myerson claimed that "HoloLens is the only device that mixes holograms into our world", touting mixed reality entertainment.
Given the elaborated and impressive demonstration of the Project X-Ray game, featuring weapons, shields, enemies, as well as other capabilities of the HoloLens, and whatnot, it will be quite interesting to see how many people are interested in buying the Development Edition of the device for $3,000, which will start shipping in 2016.
