Honduras to Ban Games, Violent Toys

Late last week the Honduran Congress voted unanimously to ban all game software and toy weapons, in a bid to remove violent content out of the hands of young children (and everyone else, for that matter) and help curb crime. The law is still awaiting the final approval from the preisdent of Honduras, but it is believed that he will ratfiy the law.

During the course of presenting this anti gaming/toy bill government officials mentioned several franchises that they deemed too violent for the Honduran people including Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Doom, Resident Evil, Legacy of Kain, Perfect Dark, Shadowman, Quake and Killer Instrinct.

It will be interesting to see if this is what the people of Honduras want and whether or not there is public outcry of the new law - besides from bussinessment connetced to the videogame and toy industries.
