HP announces new Chromebooks for education

Chromebook x360 11 G3 EE

Today at BETT 2020 in London, HP announced some new Chromebooks for education, on top of the Windows 10-powered ProBooks that it announced last week. Specifically, there are three of them: an 11-inch clamshell, an 11-inch convertible, and a 14-inch clamshell.

Chromebook 11 G8 EE

The Chromebook 11 G8 EE comes in Intel and AMD flavors. The 11-inch laptop can withstand a 76cm drop on concrete, and 122cm on wood. The keyboard can withstand a 350mL spill as well. Like all of the Intel-powered Chromebooks being announced today, it comes with a Celeron processor, and the AMD variant comes with an A6.

Chromebook x360 11 G3 EE

The Chromebook x360 11 is meant more for teachers, also packing an 11.6-inch HD display and an Intel Celeron processor. Along with a 360-degree hinge, it supports an optional Wacom EMR pen.

Chromebook 14 G6

And then there"s the Chromebook 14 G6, which packs HDMI and USB Type-C ports. The benefit is obviously that it has the larger 14-inch screen, and it"s up to 1080p.

The Intel-powered Chromebook 11 G8 EE, the Chromebook 11 x360 G3 EE, and the Chromebook 14 G6 are all available now, starting at $259, $299, and $289, respectively. The AMD-powered Chromebook 11A G8 EE will be available in February, and pricing will be announced later.
