HP announced the Elite Slice for Meeting Rooms G2 today. The second generation of the Slice is designed for huddle rooms, with the company saying that it anticipates a 34% growth in huddle spaces over the next year.
Being that these meeting spaces are smaller than full-size conference rooms, they require an easier setup, with fewer dongles and cables. That"s where the Elite Slice comes in. There are two flavors, one made for Skype Room Systems and one for Intel Unite.
The Elite Slice for Meeting Rooms G2 with Skype Room Systems comes with a 12.3-inch FHD touchscreen, a Core i3-7100T or Core i5-7500T, 8GB RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage. It has 90dBa audio, a far-field voice microphone that can capture audio from five meters in any direction, HP Noise Cancellation, and it even has a wireless display module so you can connect without any cables. If users want to connect an external device, they can do so with the HDMI port as well.
"We"ve heard from our customers that conferencing technology should be easy to deploy and manage, secure for sensitive information, and most importantly easy-to-use," said Alex Cho, vice president and general manager, Commercial PCs, HP Inc. "Collaboration is a vital tool for the modern workforce and HP is on a mission to design collaboration technology – like the new HP Elite Slice for Meeting Rooms – to be a simple, meaningful and personal experience."
The HP Elite Slice for Meeting Rooms G2 with Intel Unite has similar features to the Skype one, but there"s no included touchscreen. There"s additional flexibility there, with options for HP ShareBoard, you can add a Thunderbolt Dock, and more.
Finally, HP also announced the LD4312 4K Large Format Display. It"s made for video conferencing in a meeting room with one to four users, including integrated speakers.
The Elite Slice for MEeting Rooms G2 is expected to be coming in April, with the Skype Room Systems model starting at $1,799 and the Intel Unite model starting at $1,299. The LD4312 4K Large Format Display will be coming in June for $599.
