Last week, HP teased us with a video about its upcoming product called Spectre. On Monday during CES 2012, HP finally pulled the lid off the product, with its official name the Envy 14 Spectre. This high priced thin-and-light notebook, based on Intel"s Ultrabook concept, has a unique case material: glass.
In its press release, HP said the Spectre has a "lightweight, scratch-resistant glass on the lid, display, palmrest and HP ImagePad – an industry first." The notebook has a 14 inch screen and weighs in at under four pounds. It also has a top notch Beats Audio sound design with two speakers and a subwoofer.
Users can get the Spectre with Intel"s i5 or i7 Core processors inside allong with either 4 GB or 8 GB of RAM and a SSD with either 128 GB or 256 GB of storage space. HP claims the battery will last up to nine hours and it also comes with two free years of Norton Internet Security 2012 support.
This Ultrabook, as we mentioned, is on the pricey side. HP will launch the Spectre in the US on February 8 with a starting price of $1,399.99. It will be released in other parts of the world in March.
