HP made a range of announcements around its Z-series workstations today, including a pair of new mobile workstations, some new entry workstations, and a new VR Backpack.
The ZBook 15 G6 and the ZBook 17 G6 are now offered with ninth-generation Core or Xeon processors, and more importantly, they now come with Nvidia"s Quadro RTX graphics, which were also announced at Computex. This is the first time we"re seeing RTX in the mobile Quadro lineup, supporting real-time ray tracing and allowing designers to create models faster than ever before.
HP says that the ZBook 17 is the only mobile workstation with 100% DCI-P3, allowing for a wider color gamut for creative professionals. Both laptops offer tool-less expandability for easy upgrades as well.
But there"s more, including the Z1 Entry Tower G5, Z2 Mini G4, Z2 Small Form Factor G4, and Z2 Tower G4. HP says that the Z2 Tower is the world"s most powerful and expandable entry workstation, and it now has two times the graphics power along with 41% more processing power.
Finally, the new VR Backpack includes an eighth-generation Core i7 processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080, and more for a 30% performance bump and 25% better graphics performance.
Both of the ZBooks and the Z1 Desktop Entry Tower will be available in July, while the new Z2 series is coming in August. HP says that pricing will be shared closer to availability.
