HP has launched or announced a number of Windows 8 touch screen PCs, but today the company announced its first "convertible" or "hybrid" PC that"s similar to the Lenovo Yoga 13 and the Dell XPS 12. It"s called the HP EliteBook Revolve and it allows its users to turn the screen of the notebook around and then place it on top of its keyboard to turn it into a really big tablet.
HP"s press release says that the EliteBook Revolve will weigh 3.04 pounds and include a 11.8 inch display with Gorilla Glass 2, along with support for Intel"s Core processors and up to 256 GB of SSD storage space. While Windows 8 Pro can be installed on this laptop, there will still be an option for businesses to have Windows 7 Pro installed as well. The notebook will be released in March 2013 but pricing was not announced.
HP also announced another new product today, the HP Multi-Tablet Charging Module. HP says that this optional device is capable of charging up to 10 tablets at one time, whether they are made by HP or another company, with screens up to 10.1 inches. It will be launched sometime in January for $499.
