HP starts selling Envy Rove 20, its 20-inch Windows 8 AiO-tablet, for $979

In May, HP announced its newest Windows 8 PC, the Envy Rove 20. The 20-inch touchscreen all-in-one is similar to the previously released Sony 20-inch Vaio Tap 20, the 27-inch Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon and the 18-inch Dell XPS 18 in that it can also be used as a stand alone, and huge, Windows 8 tablet.

This week, HP finally started selling the Envy Rove 20 on its website and announced that the price for the PC will be $979.99. It also revealed its full hardware specs for the first time. The 20 inch IPS screen has a resolution of 1600x900. Inside, Envy Rove 20 has an Intel Core i3-4010U processor with a clock speed of 1.7 GHz, along with an embedded Intel HD 4400 graphics chip.

It also has 4 GB of RAM that can be upgraded to 16 GB, a 1 TB hard drive combined with a small 8 GB SSD for fast caching, and three USB 3.0 ports. The internal battery in the Envy Rove 20 is supposed to last up to three hours.

You may be wondering if this new PC could be upgraded to support a discreet graphics card for more hard core gaming. Unfortunately, as revealed in an in-house HP interview, the company has no such plans for adding a dedicated graphics card into the Envy Rove 20.
